![]() However, I'm unsure it's different with bluetooth/RF.Įssentially what I'm trying to accomplish with the Smart Control is set it up to use for my Nvidia Shield Pro via bluetooth. I've been using a Harmony 700 for a while so I am somewhat familiar with the process when doing it via IR. I know there is a lot of info in here probably way more than you wanted or cared about but hopefully you understand the system a little better now. You would have to set them up as separate devices in your harmony account. Theoretically you could buy and elite and use the hub along with the app on your smartphone for one setup and then use the 950 as an ir remote in another setup. So with that these touch screen remotes can actually be unpaired from any hub and used as standalone ir remotes similar to the harmony one, 880 and 600 series remotes. You can't do that with the companion/smart control. Simply designate the tv to respond to ir commands. It is actually quite a handy feature as you could have all your equipment in a closet with the hub and not have to run an ir blaster to the tv. The Elite and Ultimate are that as well but also ir. If that is not confusing enough to you the companion/smart controls are bluetooth/rf remote only. ![]() The companion buttons can then be programmed with any commands you have setup in each device/activity. However in reality those commands are being sent to the hub by bluetooth and the hub sends to you account in the cloud via wifi. With touch screen remotes like the elite or ultimate you can also teach the commands directly to the back of those remotes as they have an ir receiver on the back. If you have a device that is not in the database you can teach the commands by pointing that remote at the hub and those are essentially uploaded to you account's profile. all the commands/ir codes essentially sent to the hub either from logitech's database or whatever remote you teach it. A new menu will open up, allowing you direct control of your device.Yes.Access the rightmost menu option and select the type of device you'd like to control.Access the menu option that's second from the right and select your Activity.Using your Sony remote, press the ACTION MENU button. If you have more than ten Activities, you can deselect and select Activities you want accessible from the Action Menu. The Action Menu can hold up to ten of your Activities, by default this will be your first ten. Accessing your Harmony Activities and devicesĪccess your Harmony Activities and devices right from your TV screen, there's no need to look down at your remote and risk missing something important. ![]() If previously installed, you may still use the app to control your Harmony Activities, even using your original remote, from the Android TV interface. The Harmony app for Sony Android TV is no longer available on the Sony Android TV app market. I want to use the Harmony app for Sony Android TV I'm not able to control the TV when my Harmony hub is out of sightĪfter changing the above settings, you may be required to remove your Sony Smart TV from your Harmony setup, and then re-add it to enable IP Control functionality. Once the TV has restarted wait 30 seconds and continue with the instructions from Step 2. My Harmony remote no longer controls my TV Step 3: Restarting the TV and the App to get a pairing code.
